Teaching Pedagogy

My classes are a product of many years of experimentation with many excellent students who have each influenced the current structure of the course. I teach classes with a "flipped-classroom" structure. If you go to other tutoring services, you may be disappointed to learn that a lot of class time is spent taking tests silently. Here, we take a different approach.

Practice tests, problem sets and assignments are always assigned to do as homework. This method relied on the responsibility of the students to complete their work every week and bring it to class. Not only does this give us more time to work in class, but its also gives a valuable lesson in time management and responsibility.

From start to finish, class time is used in its entirety to review the common mistakes from assignments, work through challenging problems together and crash course essential skills to succeed on exams. This use of time emphasises "growth through practice."

I firmly believe practice is the only way to improve scores and my pedagogy strives to familiarise students with test patterns, drill high-frequency concepts and afford many opportunities to revisit and revise mistakes.
